    How I Know a Favorite Place

    Whenever someone asks me what my favorite place is, that question is somehow inexplicably linked to the questions of how I know what my favorite place and why I travel. When you fall in love with a place, there is a moment where you can feel the location speaking to you. The character of the place is like no other place on the planet and the world is encapsulated with you, where you are, and the people around you.

    Since London is the central transportation hub in England, it's hard not to bypass it anytime you make a trip in England. After a long day in Brighton, I decided to eat dinner in London. There has to be a lot of options in London. I'm sure Brighton has a lot of good food options but, hell, I love London town.

    London, England and the River Thames

    My absolute favorite places to walk around in London are the banks of the river Thames near the Tate Modern, Shakespeare Globe Theater, and the Oxo building. I believe these span quite a distance and actually includes the Millennium Eye as part of the walk.

    London, UK and Brick Lane Market

    There is a scene in the movie 'Notting Hill' where Hugh Grant's character is walking through an outdoor market. There are stalls selling bric-a-brac, fresh vegetables, and clothing. This was my first impression of a London market. The first time I went to London was spent mostly in museums and it probably wasn't the best idea to wander outside anyways. The rain was intermittently appearing during that trip.
