Würzburg, Germany: The Residenz
Posted on August 15, 2011 | 4 CommentsTrip Taken: 2005 On a gray cloudy summer day in Bavaria, our group of intrepid travelers arrived at the northwestern tip of Bavaria and into a town called Würzburg. This city is an important transfer point for a lot of rail traffic in Germany and... -
Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany: The Medieval Town
Posted on August 10, 2011 | No CommentsRothenburg ob der Tauber was one of the towns that was very high on the list of places I wanted to visit while I was still in Germany. Rothenburg is one of those towns in the middle of the Bavarian tourist trap known as the Romantic Road. It is one of the best preserved towns in Europe because it was never bombed during World War 2. -
How I Know a Favorite Place
Posted on September 16, 2010 | 4 CommentsWhenever someone asks me what my favorite place is, that question is somehow inexplicably linked to the questions of how I know what my favorite place and why I travel. Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany and Burg Rheinfels
Posted on August 18, 2010 | No CommentsWaking up in the hostel at the top of the hill in Bachrach was a nice experience. The view of the river below is breathtaking and the sun hasn't risen over the surrounding hills just yet. -
Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany and the Rheingauer Riesling-Route

Triberg, Germany
Posted on January 7, 2010 | No CommentsAny mention of the Black Forest has images of Grimm Fairy Tales flooding into my head. Little Red Riding Hood is skipping through the forest while the big bad wolf is slowly stalking her. -
Füssen, Germany and Neuschwanstein
Posted on January 6, 2010 | 1 CommentSleeping Beauty's castle. The birthday cake castle. The fairy tale castle. Whatever moniker Neuschwanstein has gathered over the years, it is still one of the most iconic German structure there is. It is still one of the top attractions in Germany, even if it is in the southern reaches of Bavaria. -
Fellbach, Germany and Wine Tasting
Posted on January 5, 2010 | No CommentsIt was a short ride on the S-bahn out of Stuttgart to get to Fellbach. Although I have been in Stuttgart for about 4 months at this time, I have never ventured so far out of the city limits within the Stuttgart municipality. -
Berlin, Germany and NYE
Posted on January 4, 2010 | No CommentsMy stay at Amstel House was actually quite decent compared to my other hostel stays. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. That is except for one reason. -
Munich, Germany and Museums
Posted on December 30, 2009 | No CommentsAfter a half day of visiting the fairgrounds of Oktoberfest, we split up into two groups. Colin, Jacek and his girlfriend Sophia went to the walk the city. My sister, Jose, and I went to see the museums.
